Musicians
Muzzie Braun
An Idaho favorite: Muzzie Braun. For Muzzie his musical story goes way back to the days of Musty Braun, his Father. His Father was and still is the integral force behind the Braun Brothers. Yes, Muzzie's brothers are also extremely talented musicians. Duh, haven't you hear of the infamous Braun Brothers Reunion?! It's only one of Idaho's largest music events, and takes place in Challis, Idaho. The Braun Brothers Reunion has expanded into a major regional summertime musical event. "It's one of the things we look forward to the entire year," Willy Braun said. "It's pretty overwhelming to be able to go home and see 3,000 people in Challis for the event who are supporting our family's music and the other bands that come in. My dad's done a really good job of keeping the quality of the entertainment way up there. It's pretty unbelievable to have people coming from all over the country now. Mom and dad have done a really good job keeping it all organized and growing with the crowd. They work pretty much all year long to make it happen."
Joni Harms
Joni Harms has a warm sincerity and ease to her voice… a voice that shines through on stories and melodies of a country/western way of life, making you feel you are part of the entire experience she sings about, as if she is singing only to you. In many ways, Joni is a pioneer and torch-bearer, knowing the country lifestyle is made up of a blend of musical sounds, giving her a unique style drawing crowds, literally, around the world. “Growing up, I learned to sing and write songs by listening to Emmylou Harris, Dolly Parton, Merle Haggard and George Strait,” says Harms. “I remember seeing Emmylou Harris, and, after playing a while with the famous Hot Band, she returned to the stage with just her black Gibson guitar and proved if you can truly sing, write a song and play your guitar, then you can entertain your audience all by yourself.” Although it is always special to perform with a great band, Joni held onto that challenging lesson and enjoys performing for radio stations and at various events with just her guitar, showing off that pure country voice she has been praised for since she signed her first record deal with the famed music producer Jimmy Bowen of Capitol Records in the early 1990s. Any singer will tell you not everyone can entertain that way, but Joni is a master.
Olivia Harms
Born and raised on a century farm in Canby, Oregon, Olivia Harms grew up knowing hard work was a way of life. So was music. Olivia’s mom is Joni Harms – singer/songwriter and Western Hall of Fame inductee. Music and hard work went hand in hand for Olivia. She joined her mom on the road playing music before she could walk. You might even say Olivia was born into it, “My first time on stage was when I was 2 days old – my mom, in true Joni style, had labor induced to make her show. From then on I was pretty much on stage by her side and becoming more and more addicted to the adventure of the music business.” To keep up with Olivia’s upcoming concert schedule follow her on Instagram and if you’re lucky you might just hear a little song about her rural hometown in Oregon called Canby.
