Flourishing Fall

The Visitors Center continues to serve the public. However, hours are sporadic and face masks are still required to enter the building. This requirement ensures the safety of our fellow patrons and staff. Masks will be provided for people who do not have them. The Visitors Center is open Wednesday’s and Saturday’s from 12:00 – 3:00pm, Thursday’s from 10:00am – 4:00pm (printing available) and Friday’s from 1:00 – 3:00pm. Appointments can be made for other times by calling the office at (208) 742-1800 or emailing info@salmonvalleychamber.com

Annual Membership Meeting

The GSV Chamber will be hosting our 2020 Annual Membership Meeting at Odd Fellows Hall on Monday, October 19th, at 6:00 pm. For those of you who would prefer to participate from the comfort of your own home, we will allow a call-in option. Light refreshments will be provided! The structure will be similar to last year’s meeting, with a brief presentation from the Chamber and an opportunity for members to give feedback. Please keep in mind that this is a members only event. If you are wondering if your membership is current, please email us for further clarification. We truly value every members input, so please mark your calendars!

Visitor Guides

Our visitor guides are currently in the printing process for our Fall/Winter version. They should be delivered within the next couple of weeks! Please stay tuned for more information.

Facebook Live Member Showcase

For the entire month of November the Chamber will be showcasing current members via Facebook live! We realize that our social media posts are helpful, but we feel like we could always be doing more to improve our visibility. If you are interested in this free marketing opportunity, please email us or contact a board member by October 31st. Once you have reached out to us, we will schedule a time to meet with you at your place of preference. The showcases shouldn’t take more than five minutes. This is your chance to briefly show everyone what you’ve been working on (recent accomplishments, projects, employee’s, etc.). All members who participate in this will get a free Chamber sticker! We look forward to seeing you.

Since we’re talking about social media, did you know that we are now on Instagram? Please be sure to follow us at @salmonvalleychamber

Holiday Passport Competition

Parade of Lights on Friday, November 27th, marks the beginning of our holiday passport competition! These passports are intended to motivate people to visit member businesses, even the ones who aren’t located downtown. All passports must be turned in to the Chamber no later than Christmas Eve! This gives people ample time to visit with our members. For every member business people visit, they will receive a stamp on their passport. The person with the most stamps will win a prize! Please stay tuned for more information.

ICORT Workshops from ID Commerce

You may remember this from last month’s newsletter, but this year, Idaho Tourism is hosting a series of online workshops tailored to helping destination marketing organizations and tourism businesses create a roadmap to recovery and stability. Workshops will be facilitated by Coraggio Group, a travel and tourism consulting agency based in Portland, Oregon, that provides strategic insights to tourism organizations at every scale- from rural communities such as Visit Casper and Visit Mendocino County to metropolitan destinations, state tourism agencies and tourism attractions.

Our Executive Director and board President will be attending these series. There was also an opportunity for current Chamber members to be sponsored in attendance. An email was sent last month with this information, we apologize if you missed it. We look forward to applying the skills and concepts learned from these workshops to our business community in Lemhi County. This is one more step to improving ourselves as an organization.
